Awesome Sunday @ Re-Up
Date & Time: March 9th, 11:30-6:30
Location: No. 59 Tie Shu Xie Jie, Dashilar
In the spirit of celebrating our local creative community, Re-Up Dashilar presents “Awesome Sunday”, a day of food, beer, bees and rooftop gardens. This event is open to whoever wishes to expand their senses, knowledge, and creative sensibilities.
1. Re-Up Your Sunday Brunch by SOS cafe @ Re-Up Dashilar
Kicking off ‘Awesome Sunday’, Re-Up Dashilar will be hosting a unique brunch menu that will be specially paired with Jing A and Re-Up’s collaboration beer ‘Shua-Ye’. Meaning ‘to paint the night’, this beer has been created to celebrate Beijing’s culture and history as it includes ingredients such as cumin and sweet potato, all reminiscent of wintertime in the hutongs. Food will be appropriately matched to excite and activate all of the senses.
2. Urban Recreational Garden and Bee-Keeping Workshops @ Re-UP Dashilar
Urban Bee-Keeping with Shangrila Farms:
As the machinations of China’s booming industries continue to ravish the environment and dull our cities, counter-movements to bring the Earth and sustainable living practices into the home have blossomed. Shangrila Farms at Re-Up will be offering an exciting talk on what they call Urban Beekeeping. That’s right – bees in the city. Participants will firstly learn how to differentiate between bees-knees honey products and nasties. Then the hosts will talk through the inner workings of a beehive form the queen to the brood. Q&As will follow.
Following will be a workshop on how to create a rooftop-garden, exemplified by how Re-Up will achieve this and how you can too right within your own home. Don’t let the city stop you from optimizing the comforts of home and the natural world. Come get creative with us!
